Zero precedents of treaties to the detriment of neighbors, vain any victimizing narrative from Serbia
The Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, today considered the Agreement on Defense and Security between Albania, Kosovo and Croatia as a natural cooperation between three sovereign states. In a reaction on social networks, Vengu underlined that « as an allies we have a genuine appreciation on the threats that aim to hinder the European future of our region. »
« So we have decided to cooperate to increase our protective capacities and support Kosovo’s integration into regional mechanisms, » he said. Meanwhile, Vengu said that « Serbia, following for two years a policy of empty chairs in regional initiatives, has unilaterally suspended the opportunity to encourage or participate in multilateral consultations. »
« This suspension, which is in the hands of Serbia to be set aside, makes every victimizing narrative coming from the Serbian government in vain, » Vengu said. The Minister of Defense also stated that « in its history, Albania has no precedents of secret agreements or treaties to the detriment of its neighbors, as other states have had. »
« As a result, besides the curiosity of regional dramas and those who are looking forward to finding an ear to hear groans, we have no problem publishing the tripartite agreement, » he added.
