Zelenski makes a new change at the top of the army

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Sunday appointed the Division General Andrii Hnatov chief of the General Staff of the Army.

A decree published on the website of the Presidential Administration announces that General Hnatov, the deputy head of staff, will replace the general-lieutenant Anatoli Barhilevici.

'We constantly transform our armed forces to make them even more fighting. To do this, we change the management system and introduce clear standards, 'said the Minister of Defense, Rustem Hourov, in a statement.

Hnatov has 27 years of experience in the army, in which he went from the command of a brigade of marine prisoners to the leadership of troops in the Donetk region.

Barhilevici will hold the position of inspector general of the army, a position from which he will now supervise the military standards and strengthen the discipline among the army, said Humorov.

Entering the fourth year of war with Russia, Ukraine seeks to restructure and strengthen the army to fight a much more reducible enemy.

Ukraine is in retreat to the battlefield: its troops retreat from the Russian Kursk region and undergo increasing pressure in Donetk, where the Russian forces have been submit for several months.

At the beginning of the year, Ukrainian military manager, the army will give up the brigade system, which will replace it with a 'bodies' system, consisting of larger units, to increase coordination between its forces distributed on a front line of over 1000 km and to accelerate decision making.

One of the main Ukrainian fighting units, the 3rd separate assault brigade, announced on Friday its reorganization in the body.
