Motorists on the motorway at the town of Christiana in Tennessee have recently had to scout an extra time out of the windshield.
For between trucks and pickups, a black-and-white striped tinted suddenly. Not in the form of a race – but in the form of a living zebra.
It all began on May 30, when a peaceful four -legged visit occurred in the local area. The four -legged guest, a zebra by the name of Ed, barely managed to find himself before he was free. Already the next morning, his owner reported him missed and Ed’s adventure could begin.
Then followed a week of bizarre observations – including a performance on Interstate 24, where the striped refugee created traffic lies in the company of gullly drivers and slightly confused police officers.

The final sentence was set on June 8, when the Tango 82 air unit from Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office – spotted oath from above and coordinated a somewhat alternative rescue operation. The zebra was caught in a large net, lifted by helicopter and flown directly to a waiting animal trailer.
« Officers were in readiness for the safety of the nearby residents. Ed was flown by helicopter back to a waiting animal trailer, » the sheriff’s office stated briefly after the action.
The unusual collaboration between the sheriff’s office, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Wildlife Resources Agency made sure no humans or animals were injured – and that oath could again put the hoofs in the ground somewhere with fences, gate and hopefully slightly less freedom.
The zebra is now safe back with its owner. How long he stays there, however, no one dares to predict.
