Zagreb is in an outstanding state because of Thompson, and yet no one criticizes Tomasevic
Milan Bandic was very close to Mark Perkovic Thompson.
So in his mayor’s term he allowed him a concert in Zagreb’s Main Square, and after fierce reactions and criticism, he quickly gave up the second, scheduled for the next year. So after a police assessment of the risk, Thompson gave a concert at Salata, which barely housed all the residents of the Chavoglava. And after he died, information was made public that Bandic was ordering to order Thompson to be excluded to the microphone at the celebration of the welcome of silver football players.
But otherwise they were good friends.
Today, Zagreb is in an outstanding state because of Thompson’s concert: three weeks earlier the main street near Hippodrome, one whole neighborhood was practically closed, and two more quarters will be closed a few days before the concert, experts say that « it is realistic to have two or three dead at the concert », people are allegedly in awe of the ticket, and all emergency services will be engaged in the event.
Would you criticize Bandic?
And again, no one calls Tomislav Tomasevic for that. On the contrary, Tomasevic and we can! Just recently, they have convincingly won the local elections, as if there was no Thompson and it would never be.
Would such reactions, especially in the Zagreb left, be the late Milan Bandic behind this chaotic organization of Thompson’s concert? What would be said if Bandic allowed Thompson to bring half a million people at the Hippodrome?
Certainly the wrath of the citizens of Zagreb, due to the closing of streets and neighborhoods, the extraordinary situation, the spending of the resources, and even the security risk, would not only limit to Thompson, but also to the one who gave him his hands removed to do what he wants in Zagreb.
And that was Tomislav Tomasevic.
No bans, there are chaos
Who immediately stated that he had no intention of banning concerts in the capital, not even this Thompsonov. But there is some environment between the concert and the catastrophic organization of a concert that breaks on the city infrastructure and on the back of the citizens of Zagreb.
The city determines the conditions under which a public event will be held, determines the location, capacity, number of people, includes an assessment of risk, as well as calculating on whether this organization will impair the daily functioning of the city and the lives of its inhabitants.
Tomasevic did not do this, in fear of any public reactions to the public, that is, the right -wing bukac, just as he fled for four years from the return of Marshal Tito Square to Zagreb, allegedly in fear of the « right -winging frenzy », as explained by Vili Matula.
Gladly seen guest
So Thompson becomes a happy guest at Zagreb squares, as he gets the opportunity to invite half a million people to Zagreb’s Hippodrome, and the City and the state have to do everything in their power to enable it. And to allow Thompson to do in Zagreb what no other singer or musician or even a spiritual leader could do in the city.
And all this by Tomasevic’s voters and sympathizers are silent. As they would not – and they did not – tolerated in the era of Milan Bandic. Who, at the same time, did not allow Thompson to spend his arbitrariness in Zagreb.
Thompson hostages
And so, the nominally leftist Zagreb found himself in the position of hostage Marko Perkovic Thompson, who was not forced to respect the rules of concert organization in a millionth city, as the world’s largest stars must, but forced the city to adapt to his wishes and needs.
As well as multimillion -dollar earnings.
What should it mean that anyone in this Zagreb can do whatever they want. Only if it is proclaimed a patriotic icon and armed with the threat of « right -winging ».
While the citizens of Zagreb have to cover yourself on the head, to cope and hope that everything will go fine. And that there will be no more than « two, three dead. »
