Zadar took the first victory over Split on the home floor in the final series for the Croatian basketball champion, which is played in three games. The second match is scheduled for Sunday at 8pm, again on Visnjik, after which the series moves to Split. The eventual fifth game would be played in Zadar, but it is a distant future that Jusup or Mrsic is not thinking about: neither Mrsic:

– In the first game we were not as we wanted to be, but this is the playoffs, there is not much time to cry, the second game is quickly coming in which we want to be much better than in the first, both attacking and defense. Our goal before the playoffs began to take one victory in Zadar and return to the flu with the advantage of the home pitch, we did not use the first opportunity, tomorrow is a new one – says Split coach Mršić, who knows where his team sinned:
– The offensive effect was weak, and it’s not the first time that happened to us this season. We already had such matches, but what is positive is that despite such a bad effect, we kept Zadar on only 65 points achieved, it gives me hope. The team was very good, concentrated, we still have to fix the defensive jump, we have to be even firmer here … We know that in that segment Zadar is advantageous, so we have to be present on a jump with five players and constantly in contact. The advantage that Zadar achieved in the first game is great, but if we had repaired the jump in defense and in the attack, even with such a bad percentage of shots would be in a couple of possessions, because they scored 14 points after attacking jumps. I say, this is the playoffs, such matches happen, they need to be forgotten as soon as possible and seek not to repeat the same mistakes in the following games.

At the beginning of the first game, Mršić surprised Zadar with some tactical settings, but the teams know each other so well that surprises are very quickly canceled …

– We will see, the players and the teams know each other well, the surprise can be at the beginning of the game, we surprised them a little, changed some things in the attack, but this is all short -lived, in the end the players are the ones who have to recognize things on the floor. The coaches are there to help them, but the most important thing is that the players are heading inside and not going into matches with many emotions. It was seen at the beginning of the first game, after our two offenses that we showed too much emotion. So we wanted a lot, even too much, too much desire had restrained us, and in the continuation of the series we have to be more relaxed. It will be good …- Mrsic concluded.

Zadar captain Marko Ramljak is pleased with the approach to the team in the first game and announced that they want to continue in the same pace:

– We have to stick to our game plan, to be concentrated and combative. We have to play on the same trail and continue to go for the second victory through the safety in the jump and defense. They certainly want to return to the series, it will not be easy for us, but we are mentally firm and experienced enough that we can continuously play in plan.

Despite the high win in the first match, Zadar coach Danijel Yusup once again warned of an individual quality that Split has in his ranks:

– Split is a great team, they have great individuals who, when they are in the mood and motivated, can solve the match in favor of their team. We will need energy and concentration from the first to the last minute. We did an analysis, we know what was good, what we needed to improve … I urged fans to cheer us up from the first to the last minute, they were great, we played defense and attack together, but I urge that there would be no nonsense – Yusup said, thinking Pro -throwing the pyrotechnics at the end of the match in Visnjik.

– I always appeal to sports and fair behavior and to win the better. Surely that it all shaken us, that event, I hope it will not happen again – Yusup concluded.
