Yuriko Backes for Findel expansion: « Extension is necessary »
In his request to Minister Backes, Pirate MP Sven Clement took on statements by Alexander Flassak, the CEO of Lux-Airport. In an interview, he had commented on the expansion of the Findel Airport. The expansion is a necessary project to cope with the growth of the airport.
At the moment, such plans for expansion are still being drawn up, but at the moment, however, one is already in the process of renovating sub -areas of the terminal and gradually expanding, Backes in response to the parliamentary request. With a view to the increase in passenger, however, an extension is necessary, according to Backes.
« Level 2 » brings advantages
As far as the question of slot allocation for airlines is concerned, it will be organized through central coordination. Luxembourg-Findel Airport is currently being managed as a so-called « Level 2 » airport. « Level 2 » airports are airports that only tend to overload at certain times of the day, on certain days of the week or in certain seasons.
