Young wolf makes the village of Auw in the Eifel unsafe

Two brothers from Auw were witnesses to the rare incident and were able to hold the wolf on several videos, the report continued. The apparently still young wolf walked through the town of Rother Strasse around 6.30 p.m. Other residents confirmed the viewing of the animal in different streets, also near the local primary school. After that, the wolf disappeared back towards Wischeid and tapping.

According to the « Trierische Volksfreund », the encounter with the wolf in Auw encounters mixed reactions: While some citizens are concerned and are afraid of walking alone, others see the incident left. The two brothers, who are hunters themselves, immediately informed the responsible wolf officer. The latter has described the recordings unique in Germany, since they give a rare insight into the behavior of a wolf in such a situation, the « Trierische Volksfreund » continued.

The place Auw is located in the Eifel near the Belgian border. It is a little more than 25 kilometers to Luxembourg. Whether it could be the wolf which was recently spotted in Luxembourgis still unclear.
