Young people film how they penetrate train sheds and cross traces: « Dangerous, this is not a playground » (Schaerbeek)

The video can be seen on the YouTube channel KC Explores. Some Dutch young people do ‘Urban Exploring’ and film how they penetrate and investigate deserted areas and buildings. Last weekend a video came online from the Schaerbeek formation site and we see how the young people penetrate a shed.

« At the start of the video, the young people say that their actions are life -threatening. That is also the only statement that I immediately give them. Their actions can be rejected in the most strict terms, » ​​says Thomas Baeken of railway manager Infrabel.

« The young people were able to enter the site through a hole in the fence through a nearby nature reserve, » says Baeken. « We are going to restore that, but it is actually impossible to fade all railway lines. We also count on the common sense of people. »

Private domain

There are a lot of train sets on the Schaarbeek formation railway site. « So for clarity this is not a playground and private domain of the NMBS. It is therefore forbidden to enter this, » says Baeken. « Moreover, the video shows how the young people cross the train tracks. That is behavior in which regularly falls fatalities. It is revenge -calling to see that such a behavior is being promoted. It influences other young people and is life -threatening. »

At the NMBS they first want to analyze the images. « We first want to see what happened and how that could happen. We are still waiting for feedback from that analysis, » says Bart Crols of the NMBS. « Such a behavior is life -threatening, is rejected and punishable. Before we think about judicial steps, we first want to analyze the images. »  (AMG)
