Young newspapers no longer read, how do they follow the news?

Classical media are updated, transformed, replaced by new media, and the audience and their habits are changing. It is especially interesting to observe young people who were born in a technological environment, during social networks and instant news. Most elementary school students and students use social networks and applications in our country, but not all use them to the same extent, and not all young people are involved in interactions all the time.

Book The media and the young (FDV Publishing House, 2025), which is based on on empirical data and is an original project in Sloveniaasks the myths of young people as non -readers, disobedients, uninformed, unbelievable. It treats digital practices more complex. It aims to identify smart technologies among adolescents in combination with other media and show the design of so -called typical media repertoires.

Their findings, as the professor explains Tanja Oblak Črničeditor of the book, suggest that media education, which would be in step with technological changes and would properly address the needs of young people. Tanja Oblak Črnič is with his colleague Professor Dejan Jontes provided some cues and research findings.

Classic media is accompanied by young people mainly in the family circle, when it is lit in the living room, a radio that emits in the background at home or in the car. None of the respondents are read by virtually newspapers or magazines, nor are they ordered in their households.
