« You never know when the accidents can happen »
« You never know when the accidents can happen, » says Tinna Gunnarsdóttir, a guide and rescue officer, who became aware of a hole that had recently formed on the bridge between the continents over the weekend. Seems cracking there.
Tinna walks around the area very regularly and says the hole has not been there when it was last on the spot, about a week or two since.
The mind is looking for the accident in Grindavík
« You often have such holes when you are walking on the mountains of Reykjanes, but this is the first time I have seen in a crowded place, » says Tinna in a conversation with mbl.is.
She says she has become aware of the hole when she saw a little boy are likely to be proud of her.
« Of course, I just stop it, because you immediately think about what happened in Grindavík, where you disappeared into a crack, and I think this is likely to be able to crash something more, » says Tinna.
She mentions that there is a need to form the area better and fence it off.
Reflect on to go certain ways
She herself has announced the hole to Safetravel.
« If this is going to happen across the Reykjanes, some such holes are formed under the surface and people are walking all over – you never know when the accidents can happen. »
Tinna says that she herself refuses to take certain hiking trails in the area.
« Because you don’t know how this is now after all this earthquake last year. »
However, she knows that the Civil Defense has warned to walk around in certain areas.
« This is nothing that you are unaware of. But I’m not sure the general tourist is aware of this. »
