New charges – old connections

Today, Gregorian Bivolaru is imprisoned in France, charged with, among other things, human trafficking and abuse. By his side are two known faces from Natha: Mihai and Adina Stoian. The Romanian married couple were arrested in 2024 on the border with Georgia, and they are now accused of having played a key role in organizing the mentioned meetings in Paris.

Through their lawyer, the couple maintains their innocence, while Bivolaru, according to French media, has explained in court that he is a « victim of a political plot ».

In an attempt to distance themselves, « Team Natha » writes in a response to DR that the association has neither organized meetings with Bivolaru nor had the Stoian couple as leading figures. Instead, they are referred to as « former teachers employed in part -time ».

Among the sources of DR, however, a completely different picture is drawn: In particular, Mihai Stoian is described as the school’s real governing force until his arrest.

Official answers – and old patterns

Natha has consistently rejected the charges. When the City of Copenhagen demanded an explanation in 2010, the answer from one of the school’s teachers was:

– None of the above information is right. These are the usual accusations and vicious rumors against Grieg taken from the Romanian media.

At that time, Natha is holding on to the fact that they are an independent yoga school that operates exclusively under Danish law.

Meanwhile, the rules have changed. Following a change of law in 2017, the Public Information Act requires that associations that receive support actively promote democracy and citizenship. According to the City of Copenhagen’s guidelines, no grants are granted for activities that propagate religious messages or promote superstition.
