From May 21 to June 1, 2025, the fifth WMF World Championship of Minifutball will be held in the Azerbaijani tank. This large -scale tournament has the strongest teams from all over the world. All matches will be held in the modern national gymnastics arena in Baku, which contains about 9,000 spectators.

The choice of Baku as the owner of the championship is due to the active development of minifutball in Azerbaijan. A tense struggle on a small field promises vivid emotions and loud results, because WMF World Cup is held every two years and has already become a real sports holiday in the world of minifutball.

Tournament format, groups of groups and favorites

The championship will participate in 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four teams. At the group stage, the teams will play in the format « everyone against each », the two best teams from each quartet will go to the Playoff. Next – butt matches on the Playoff system: 1/8 finals, quarter -finals, semi -finals and finals.

Such rules have already become traditional, so we are waiting for a familiar but always intriguing draw of the most prestigious trophy in the world of mini -fethole. The drawing of the group stage took place on March 12, 2025, as a result, the national team of Ukraine fell into the group C, where it plays two vouchers to the stage of matches for disposal with the teams of Hungary, England and Turkey.

The competitions will be attended by teams of five confederations. For the first time in history at the World Cup in Minifutball, the national teams of Bahrain, Chad, Indonesia, Mauritania, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey and Uzbekistan will play. There are 32 countries out of four continents.

The greatest expectations of fans and experts are associated with proven favorites. Romania approaches the tournament as a valid world champion (it won the 2023 finals). Following – Kazakhstan, who two years ago took « silver », and with them – the Hungarians, who then won bronze awards.

The United States, Mexico and the Czech Republic, which have previously won the World Championships, as well as Serbia (current European champions) are also considered « traditional Grandes ». Slovakia and France, which have shown a good game in recent years, should not be discounted. Therefore, the struggle for this year’s trophy promises to be extremely tense.

The national team of Ukraine

Ukraine will be presented for the third time at the World Championships under the auspices of the World Federation of Minifutball (WMF). The main success of our boys is to reach the quarterfinals on the debut world championship in 2019, where they gave way to Hungary (0: 3). Therefore, at the group stage, the Ukrainians received a principled rival.

Regarding the other two opponents of our countrymen at the group stage, it will be the third minifutball World Cup for the founders of big football, the national team of England. In the last mundial, the British reached the 1/8 finals where Bulgaria gave way (1: 2). The « dark horse » in this company is a team of Turkey, which will participate for the first time in the planetary championship.

In front of the mini -fethole mundial, the Ukrainian national team took part in the League of Nations 2025, where it took the last sixth place, playing a draw with Azerbaijan (2: 2) and losing the teams of Slovakia (1: 2) and Poland (0: 3, 2: 3).
