Workshop on Creating a Rural Development Program in the Municipality of Kicevo

In the period November 2024 until August 2025, a rural coalition will implement the project « Road to the Village: Creating Sustainable Rural Development in the Heart of Nature » funded as under a grant within the project « Sustainable Use of Natural Resources with Korab, Koratnik, Shara and Albanian Alps » financially supported by the Conservation and Sustainability Fund, Prespa, Ohrid (Pont).

Within the project, one of the planned activities is the preparation of a Rural Tourism Program of the Municipality of Kicevo, which should arise in accordance with the identified needs and priorities of the citizens in the local community and rural areas. For this purpose, two workshops will be held to discuss key areas and priorities for working in the field of rural development and tourism with local stakeholders (municipality, institutions, local, CSOs, individuals young residents, residents of rural areas, presidents and members of local communities).

– Today we had the second workshop within the project « Road to the village, sustainable development in the heart of nature » is called our project funded by the CNVP Foundation, as well as Pont organizations operating in the country, in Kosovo and Albania, and are aimed at protecting natural wealth. The activities we envisaged within the project are the preparation of a Rural Development and Tourism Program. We are working for the first time with the municipality of Kicevo and is the first program of its kind made in our municipality in order to all as local stakeholders plan the activities we want to see or implement in the coming period – said the executive director Lile Jonoski and emphasized that the first effect of this project should be completed.
