Working visit. Predoiu remembered the people hit by the water
Interim Prime Minister Cătălin Predoiu will make a work visit in the areas affected by floods in Covasna County, informs the Department for Emergency Situations on Friday.
According to the quoted source, Cătălin Predoiu is to travel to Covasna county in the next period, to evaluate the situation generated by floods and to discuss with the local authorities the necessary measures to support the affected communities.
The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) within the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that the hydrological phenomena in Covasna County are still permanently monitored by the specialized structures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the local and county authorities.
Following heavy rainfall, several areas of the county were affected by local water courses, especially in the Mărcușului and Băcel areas. The intervention crews managed to close a breach on the Târlung river and to strengthen vulnerable dams, with the support of over 5,000 sandbags and high capacity equipment.
‘In order to ensure the immediate support to the population, a request was sent to the county prefectures to report urgent needs, such as drinking water, food or other basic needs. So far, no specific requests have been registered in this regard, the problems being managed efficiently at local level. At the time of the water withdrawal, the teams of specialists will proceed to evaluate the damages, in collaboration with the local public administration authorities, to establish the support measures for the population and to restore the affected infrastructure. At the same time, in the next period, at the time of the water withdrawal, in order to be able to inspect the situation completely, a work visit will take place in Covasna county, led by the interim prime minister, Mr. Cătălin Predoiu, for the on-site evaluation of the situation, as well as to discuss the necessary measures in support of the affected communities, in a Facebook.
Regarding Salina Praid, DSU mentions that the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Environment have been mandated, based on a decision of the National Emergency Committee, to carry out a detailed assessment of the situation and to propose to the Executive concrete remediation measures, including from the budget reserve fund at the disposal of the Government.
