The postman that had stolen the credit card of, among others, Remco Evenepoel to collect money with it has been sentenced by the Brussels correctional court to a 175 -hour work sentence. The man looted a total of 19,500 euros.

The investigation started when a woman from Schepdaal (Dilbeek) did not receive her new bank card with the mail, but discovered that money had been taken from her account. Camera images showed the postman in question at an ATM. During a house search, the police found dozens of stolen cards. One of the credit cards intercepted belonged to a company that Remco Evenepoel was and was intended for the cyclist. With that card, 9,000 euros had been collected.

Gambling addiction
