« Chudomir is one of the most read and beloved Bulgarian writers, he is also one of the most recognizable artists, » writes in « The Mive Chudomir of his time, » Professors Albert Benbasat and Nikolay Aretov. They are, of course, the professors are always right, but so they put a complicated question before us: why, since it is « among the most beloved », Chudomir enters the textbooks (8th and 9th grade) only in 2018. In their joint study, the two literary historians and analysts provide us with important materials for answering this question. An answer that I think has at least three components: 1) biographical; 2) meaningful; 3) emotional.

The biopic consists in the fact that Chudomir (with a birth name Dimitar Chorbadzhiyski) chooses to spend his life in Kazanlak – the nearest city to his home village of Turia, and not in Sofia, as many of them did and many more today.
