A woman who tried to throw herself into the beautiful seawater in Florida had to give up quickly when a lifeguard appeared with a serious warning.
Lauren Roth and her husband, Matt, enjoyed a day at the beach a few months ago. Her husband began to film her as she tried to go out into the water, but shortly afterwards a lifeguard came to her and said they would ‘clear the water’. A shark was heading in their direction.
She shared the experience in her Tiktok account, @lollie214, and the video has received 9.3 million views and 371,000 likes in a short time. The moment Roth heard the lifeguard, she immediately went up to the beach. Although she seemed calm, she told Newsweek that she thinks it was the shock that took over.
« Matt is from Florida, so for months before our relocation he had prepared me for wildlife here to be intense, so I wasn’t as scared as I could have been. We love the sea, so it’s a risk we’re taking, » she told the American media.
Roth explained that about seven seconds after she got out of the water, the shark began to swim by. Her husband kept filming and pointing to the place where she had stood just moments before the shark appeared.
The shark swam in the shallow water, right where the waves broke. Matt pointed to its fins as they broke the water surface.
In the video, Roth told her husband that she would never go into the water again – but in reality she has been in almost every week ago. Meanwhile, her husband thought it was ‘wildly cool’ to see the shark. Her answer made people laugh, « Is that? »
A large number of Tiktok users expressed in the commentary to be quite shocked at how close the shark came on the coast, and praised the lifeguard for his quick reaction that got her out of the water in time.

« We have a shark on the way in? Has it called first or made a reservation? » it sounded from a third who tried to make some fun with the situation.
Roth also assured the viewers of Tiktok that her husband first began to excite herself over the shark when she was definitely out of the water.
