Without the courage and willingness to follow the law

Social economy, energy consumption, environmental considerations and national value creation, which will lay the foundation for life on the coast is not in accordance with the intentions of the Marine Resources Act. The law was prepared to ensure the basis of life and activity along our coast, but today's politicians do not have the will, or courage, to comply with the law.

Politicians should distribute the quotas in a way that ensures species stocks, food chains, available spawning areas and the largest possible value creation of each kilogram of raw material. Actors who use environmentally friendly tools with the highest possible degree of seal -relative catches of the desired species and size, and have an acceptable fuel consumption should be prioritized.

Today's quota schemes are used as an election bottle based on old traditional cooperation agreements between politicians and strong and influential and powerful shipowners, often supported by Norwegian and foreign capital forces. Changes to the fishing quotas are so politically burdensome that politicians choose not to follow the law.

The marine resources are the coastal population's common property, but end up with Norwegian and foreign investors too much. Politicians need to get an overview of how much of the value creation from the sea accrues to the coast's population, and how much disappears from the country.

We have capital access that enables us to take care of our own natural resources, and refine them, so that the population's resources create wealth for those who have the rights to these resources!

Politicians must access accounting and figures showing net value creation per kg of quota -catched fish, and the social value of further processing of the raw material in our coastal areas. Quota allocation will be governed by market prices, the stocks' sustainability and food chains, and the quota distribution must be controlled by the researchers' reports, and accounting figures showing the vessels' net value creation of each kilo of biomass, and the joint's contribution to the local community.

Politicians must also access accounts and catch reports from factory trawlers and the ringnote fleet. Present the figures for net value creation of each kilo of biomass, and show how much of this value creation accrues to our coastal areas, and how much disappears out of the country. Compare the value creation of top quality fresh produce and herring trawling with fillet production!

Today's fantasy prize on fresh produce shows that it is not a good store to capture large amounts of quality products, and then sell it as a « freezer ». With organized reception of catches in the fields, and rapid transport to land, much more fish can be delivered at a fresh product price.

Fishermen's predictability must be maintained, but vessels, tools and trapping methods must be based on profitability and good resource utilization, and politicians are obliged to comply with the regulations and intentions of the Resources Act.

This is a new example of our politicians not managing the people's money and resources in a proper way.
