Within the summer season official operations start from Vlora Airport
At the Vlora International Airport is working on the latest details, just days before landing on the first plane. Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku closely inspected the performance of the works, saying that « on May 8, we will have a test of the first aircraft on the 3.2 kilometer runway in Vlora to continue with certifications to have official landing within the summer season. »
Balluku said this is an important project that responds to the development of the civil aviation industry. Today, Balluku pointed out, the number of passengers at Rinas Airport is 10.7 million, versus 1.7 million in 2013, while expectations for 2025 are for a 20-30% increase in passenger flow through airlines in our country.
Vlora International Airport (VIA) is the investment that is turning into another large gate for all visitors who choose Albania to visit and rest. This airport is expected to bring the entrance gate to southern Albania and the gate of tourism development. Vlora Airport is living on the ground to become the country’s main airport, which will operate with over three business models: civil aviation, aircraft maintenance and a genuine cargo.
