« With your view of Dickpics, my generation can’t get a job »

When I read about the different interpretations and reactions to what can reasonably be called Thyberg scandal I laugh out loud at first. Because it is a very fun comedy that takes place on the political scene. Pretty quickly my smile turns up and down.

Tobias Thyberg could not become a national security adviser because of a Dickpic. When I formulate the short sentence, a low -key panic spreads in my body. If the very existence of one’s nude pictures on the web or in other people’s phones is an obstacle to getting a high position in their professional life, then Generation Z and Millennials in our own words are « cooked ». How can we young people who live our entire lives, including parts of our sex lives, on the internet ever be able to get a good job if nude pictures stand in the way of it? Is it required that all born in the Millennium Millennium retire first?

The problem is not said to be to There is a nude picture on Thyberg in circulation, but between the lines you read instead that the problem is that he should be ashamed so much for it, that it could be used in an extortion situation. But if you make the assessment that Thyberg would prioritize his own honor over Sweden’s security in such a situation, it is the balancing that is the big problem.

Just hire people in sensitive positions who do not care if nude pictures were spread. Hire promiscuous!

In the future, see I am a simple solution to this, since almost all young people have ever sent or shared something burdust: only hire people in sensitive positions who do not care if nude pictures were spread. Hire promiscuous! Young people who are so used to self -exploitation that any personal scandals would not touch them in the back.

For one of the big differences between my generation and the older one seems to be what we think is unscrupulous. We may feel that it is unacceptable that Kristersson and his government, say, do not keep what you promise or are silent when live -streamed war crimes and an orchestrated hunger disaster in Gaza. Or when they close their eyes to an apocalyptic climate disaster. However, something we do not think is so bad: consent dick pics.

I wonder how to think that a simple nude image has enough weight for an extortion. In my and many other young people’s worlds, sexual freedom or activity is not shameful in themselves. We are educated in the third wave feminism and the queer revolution that took place during the 21st century. We are also hardened by social media and internet porn’s influence.

Each and every other one I feel, see and create daily content that would destroy a person’s social reputation just fifty years ago. We are the soft and hardcore generation. A generation that could always and technically easily turn to Onlyfans for livelihood if the times became tough.

For us, the shame is instead in the intention and reception of the naked content. What we have got in us, maybe not with the mother’s milk, but at least with the first energy drink, is the holy mother of our sexual universe: the consent. In the case that is now being debated, there seems to be no element of any form of overtramp against another.

In the case of Thyberg Instead, the problem description reads: a nude picture exists, and it could be used against you. This is probably why many young people relate to this scandal with confusion. Many people probably ask « was that just this? » In any case, I start directly thinking in paths because the picture embodied something illegal given the consequences, but that does not seem to be the case.

With the moralizing view of personal life, many people with a work are bad, if anyone else holds an unreasonable picture of one. I wonder where the limit goes for what counts as a sensitive position in that case. How far down in political and diplomatic rank will you have to sign a contract that you have never seated to take up the position?

I think Thyberg is the perfect man in the position if a potential blackmail situation occurs, because he cares so little about his nude picture that he didn’t even mention it. It would have been far worse if an intended security adviser in an investigation said that there are nude pictures that you have no full control over, and that they would never be able to do if they leaked. That is the type man not Want to have an overview of Swedish security. Someone who trembles on the cuff every time someone mentions the cloud service Dropbox. Someone who can threaten. Someone who lives as if the Internet does not exist. Thyberg, on the other hand, is obviously not one. He was so unbroken that he forgot to mention the picture. It is not irresponsible, that is exactly what is needed.

It makes the person human, as defective as I and many with me. A state without dickpics is not my state

Honestly, If the existence of a nude picture in someone’s chat log is sufficient to get the entire security police to sweat, then the problem may not be the picture – but how fragile and outdated the entire device seems to be. Because as a young person, I see no moral doubts whatsoever that a government employee shared sexy or sexual images. I respect it rather more for that. It makes the person human, as defective as I and many with me. A state without dickpics is not my state.

It is not 1983. It is not even 2011. It is a contemporary where everyone who grew up with a camera in hand has sent something that was not intended for working life. It will not be possible to test it out of it. The only thing that remains is to adapt. For politicians and diplomats have certainly shown the gender for creti and pleti at all times, the difference is that today there is more often image proof.

The future players of politics will have a much more exposed digital past. So stop employing those who have something to hide and are ashamed of their sex life. Instead, employ those whose nude pictures are already out. Go to Onlyfans and scan the site for your next security adviser.
