With the victories of Gulbene, Jelgava and Kekavnieki, the entire class finals / day has ended the Sporto Finals

The finals of the finals were addressed by Alexander Samoilov, Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Education and Science on both days, Raimonds Lazdiņš, LOC President Raimonds Lazdiņš, LOC Secretary General Raitis Keselis, LOC Sports Marketing Project Manager, Olympian Juris Šics and Jelgava National.

The finals marked the culmination of the project – the classes that had best started in the selection round competed in nine exciting disciplines: various relay challenges, orienteering competitions and erudition tasks for the Olympic movement and sports. The top three classes of each age group won cups, medals, diplomas, prizes from LOC and Rimi Latvia, as well as other surprise gifts. Sports teachers and class teachers also did not go without testing, and this year they demonstrated their skills in an activity organized by sports trader Sportland.

Along with the activities in which the students fought for the result and valuable prizes, Rimi Latvia, Aqueduct and Stelpe’s natural mineral water provided children, both in the moments of activity, as well as drinking water and snacks for recovering energy.

The participants and those present were delighted by a musical performance from Emily and Reik, but on the second day, the participants were surprised by the illusionist Edge.

This year’s winners:

Grade 3:
1st place – Kekava Secondary School 3c
2nd place – Krimulda Secondary School 3.A
3rd place – Talsi 2nd Secondary School 3.B
A total of 100 classes participated in the project.

4th grade group:
1st place – Jelgava 4th High School 4.A
2nd place – Valmiera Pārgauja Primary School 4.A
3rd place – Bauska State Gymnasium 4c
A total of 74 classes participated in the project.

5th grade group:
1st place – Jelgava 4th Secondary School 5c
2nd place – Gulbene County Secondary School 5.U
3rd place – Bauska State Gymnasium 5.A
A total of 68 classes participated in the project.

6th grade group:
1st place – Gulbene County Secondary School 6.B
2nd place – Valmiera Pārgauja Primary School 6c
3rd place – Krimulda High School 6.B
A total of 39 classes participated in the project.

Grade 5 and 6 finalists, as well as other pupils in this age group participating in the Sporto whole class project, have the opportunity to participate in the camp « Personality Academy », which develops leadership, cooperation and social skills, as well as promotes the personal growth of pupils.

In turn, it is customary for grade 2 groups to participate in the first year in their first year, participate in the opening event and relay competitions in their subgroups, but have not yet participated in the finals.

Overall, 2024/2025. During the school year, 359 classes or 7,220 pupils from 34 municipalities throughout Latvia participated in the Sporto Visa Class project.

About the project “Sporto the whole class”:

The project launched in 2014 promotes the physical fitness and healthy lifestyle of the pupils by introducing three additional sports hours a week on 2-6. grade students. Its purpose is to develop the team’s long, discipline and motivation by getting to know different sports.

The project is organized by the Latvian Olympic Committee in cooperation with educational institutions and municipalities. Supports: Rimi Latvia, Sportland, Moller Auto, Aqueduct, « Movement of Movement » initiative.

About the Camp “Personality Academy”:

The camp in Ventspils from 8 to 15 June will gather the most active and curious grades 5 and 6. Its goal is to develop leadership, self -esteem and social responsibility. The program includes sports activities, creative workshops, discussions on goals and a healthy lifestyle, as well as a meeting with Latvian athletes.

The camp is implemented by the LOC with the support of the Latvian Lotto and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia, with funding from the state budget part – Latvian Loto dividends.
