« Wings of Memory » is a dance event of the Munich Ballet Festival Week
« Wings of Memory » – memories that inspire: that Bavarian state ballet in Munich Underlines with his ballet evening that ingenious choreographies do not have to fear the best. In any case, not when the old interpreted so brilliantly and highly precisely rehearsed how authentically, as is done in this production. That applies to Pina Bausch (1940-2009) and her premiere, large-scale ensemble « Das Spring’s victim » as well as for « Bella Figura », which the Czech choreographer Jiri Kilian created for five dancers 30 years ago. This also applies to the duo « Faun » from 2009, in which the Geneva Ballet Director Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui Claude Debussys/Nijinsky’s iconic « L’Près-Midi d’un Faune » reinterpreted-not least with musical interventions by Nitin Sawney. In the Munich State Ballet, a breathtaking journey through time, space and light was experienced, which proved to be elegant and powerful for modern dance and music history.
