Willingness to find a solution

It looks like there is a general desire to find some solution as there is no disruption of a large community project that is very important to all townspeople.

This is stated by Hildur Dagbjört Arnardóttir, chairman of Grönda in Ísafjörður, a community project on cultivation for the benefit of the townspeople, but recently she commented in a video of social media about plans for the installation of a cable car on a plot that has been healing for nine years.

Hildur says in a conversation with mbl.is that very soon after she put the video out she met the mayor and then a board member from Eyrarkláf.

Following that, she had an open meeting for the people in the healing, which she says had been worried and all kinds of questions where suddenly there are some plans in the area where the cultivation has taken place.

« It was very helpful. The board member I talked to at Eyrarkláf came to that meeting and answered questions. It was full was out of the house at the meeting and had to close the register after two hours of discussion, ”says Hildur.

« It's not easy to move this »

She says many people can think that it is easy to transport a breeding project, it is only possible to shovel up the dust and put it down elsewhere.

« It is not easy to transfer this. This is something that is there and has evolved for a decade. If we do not allow it to be there, it's just the quality we lose.

This is also a question that society feels that there is respect for community projects. «

Anyone can come and participate in the cultivation and reaped, but the project is funded by supporters.

A unique project on a global scale

Hildur is said to be fired like the rescue forces and no limits to who is part of healing.

All children in Ísafjörður will participate in cultivation this spring and then she sees anyone who can come and participate in the cultivation and reaped, but the project is funded by sponsors. Twice a week you can get assistance from Grónda's staff in the area.

Hildur says he does not know that any other project is run in this way in the world. It is educated as a landscape architect and says it is easy to bring both a cable car and the operation of healing in the same area.

« For me, the area is smooth and I don't have to have the whole area under our operations.

Therefore, it came as a surprise to me that the land planning boundaries have been set throughout the area and more.

The dispute plan is just called a divisional plan for a cable car. Thus, the area is not being planned, but it is a subtle area for a cable car. «

Not trying to lay a stone in the street of healing

Asked about the opinion of the residents of Isafjardarbær on plans for a cable car in the town, Hildur says some residents welcome the plans and that something is happening in town.

Others are of the opinion that tourists should not be built more and that it is worthwhile to distort nature. These are people who find it wonderful to be at peace in the hillside and that blueberries can be picked up without a panic around.

Then she says that some people find it more than a little strange that a cable car will not be further installed closer to the ski area and thus can be used to get up with skiing or wheels.

« Up there is actually just a viewing platform and that area for outdoor recreation cannot be used in any other way. »

Hildur says these views are all stated at the meeting.

Hildur would like to point out in particular that in his chat with the mayor these days it has been stated that the municipality is not trying to lay a stone in the street of healing.

« So we're just hoping that this will go well and maybe it ends with the healing being properly placed in the town's master plan. »
