Will you fix the stairs but will not touch others?

Kaunas residents noticed the work on the market near the station. The stairs leading to the viaduct were dismantled, and near the temporary metal tier and wooden railings. The passers -by wondered if the viaduct and a trail over the Tunnel Street, leading to Žaliakalnis streets, would be managed.

« When you climb the stairs and turn right, you can travel to Šančiai, and the left to E. Fryko Street in Žaliakalnis. It is the trail and stairs leading to Žaliakalnis side. It will arrange, ”said one reader of Kauno diena.

The newspaper asked the city representatives what works were taking place at the said pedestrian viaduct at the tunnel and Girstupio streets. We also asked to clarify whether a cracked section leading to the direction of E. Fryko Street would be managed. Unfortunately, municipal specialists did not have good knowledge to the citizens.

« The stairs are currently being repaired and no additional work is foreseen, » said Aloyzas Pakalniškis, Head of the City Management Department.

He said the passage of pedestrians would not be closed during the work, and they could climb on a temporary staircase on the viaduct.

« It is planned that the works will last about four weeks.
