Will move two business days next year
The Ministry of Welfare (MoW) explains that in 2026 there are two business days falling between the holiday and the weekly rest, namely January 2 fall between the holiday on January 1st and Saturday, January 3, and June 22 falls between Sunday, June 21st, and the celebration.
Thus, on January 2, the weekday will be postponed to Saturday, January 17, and the working day on June 22 to Saturday, June 27.
The ministry points out that this will ensure the continuity of weekly working hours in the week from which the working days will be postponed, while the employees will be provided with a greater number of rest days in a row, which they will be able to use at their discretion. In addition, the total number of working days in the calendar year will not change.
The Labor Law provides that if one working day falls between the holiday and the weekly rest period, the employer can set this day a holiday and move it to Saturday the same week or another week within the same month.
At the same time, this provision stipulates that the employees of the state budget funded by institutions funded by five -day working week from Monday to Friday, the Cabinet of Ministers must issue an order to transfer the working day next year until July 1 of the current year.
