Will continue to serve Grindviks
Sigurður Enoksson, the owner of the bakery of Sérastubbs, says he doubts that people realize what Grindvikings are living. Tomorrow’s uncertainty can take a toll on health and general well -being. Then it is his opinion that if the state had paid off the companies in Grindavík, it would not have to be in operation with them. The result would probably be the same.
« The uncertainty about whether I should attend work tomorrow and other things, there is so much in this that this can be really difficult. I want to mean that this is bad with a person, but we have just tried to continue.
Health has not been aware of this. This is a mix of stress and other, so people were saying to you « you don’t decide what your body does even though you say you are OK », « says Sigurður in a conversation with mbl.is.
Counted down to the closing of Hérastubbs
« Three months ago I put the number 84 on my wall on Facebook, then I was counting down until I was going to close the bakery – this was said 84 days ago, but today state aid with a company in Grindavík. »
Sigurdur recently made the decision to continue the bakery’s operations, but the new eruption is once again attached to a great deal of uncertainty.
« We have previously had to go in the next day, but I don’t know how this will be now. Ahead are fortunes and the like I was going to go for, I’m hoping to get into Grindavík, although I have nothing open, I could at least finish these parties, » says Sigurdur.
It is difficult to not be able to answer the people who ask if they get their pies for the weekend’s parties. When asked, he says he is not afraid to go into Grindavík.
« When the last volcanic eruption was, I went in there that night to finish certain things, but it is uncertain what you get permission to do now. »
« It would certainly have come out the same »
Sigurdur and his wife sold their house in Grindavík and have had difficulty deciding where they want, and can live.
« You know nothing about this event south by sea, where they will be and whether they will destroy Reykjanesbraut or Svartsengi. Should you stay back to the Suðurnes or elsewhere and drive between?
One is also frustrated that the authorities did not understand now the company from a man, we have been serving the community for 30 years. «
It is Sigurður’s opinion that if the state had paid up the companies, they would not have had to stand in operating support with companies in Grindavík.
« It would certainly have come out the same thing. »
« It’s okay with the bakery »
Asked in the aftermath, Sigurdur replies that the intention is to continue to try to serve his customers, « you just try to keep track of the situation ».
« We have been in this for 30 years and it has been going well. It’s sad if natural disasters become what takes us down. It shouldn’t, it’s okay with the bakery, there are just two, three cracks there.
It just isn’t we who can decide whether we get into a bakery or not. It has always been the case that companies have had to go in shortly after, but then it is always about where the eruption is. «
