New projects will receive around NOK 7 billion, while ongoing projects should be expanded for almost 10 billion, according to the government’s proposal.

– We are in a serious security policy situation. Therefore, we would now ask the Storting to approve significant investments in various parts of the Armed Forces to strengthen Norway’s defense capabilities, in line with the ambitions in the long -term plan presented last year. Overall, these are important investments in our joint security and security, says Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik (Ap) in a press release.

Purchase of artillery fires

The Government proposes to buy 24 new K9 artillery for K9, which will be used to build an artillery battalion in the planned Finnmark brigade. Previously, Norway has gone to the procurement of 28 K9 wagons and 14 K10 ammunition vehicles from South Korean Hanwha Land Systems.

– The acquisition of further artillery signs will significantly help to strengthen the army’s fire power. It will also mark an important step on the road to developing Finnmark land defense to a standing Finnmark brigade, as the long -term plan proposes, says Sandvik.

More homes at Ørland

There is an increased need for mining in the sea, according to Sandvik. It is therefore proposed to expand an existing mining clearance project of NOK 3.9 billion.

It is also proposed to allocate NOK 713 million to 250 new homes in Ørland, as a result of the air station being further developed as the main base for the Air Defense. This is scheduled to be implemented during the period 2025–2029.
