Wijnbedrijf Belgian Bubbles disappointed about rules New quality label Belbul Belgian sparkling wine: « Wind -all -renowned Belgian beers are also not made of Belgian hops and malt? » (Zandhoven)
Olivier Sonck (52) and his wife Kristien Dieltiens (48) developed the Belgian sparkling wine Belgian Bubbles from the best southern French quality grapes in 2010. A bustling Belgian party drink, with a soft gem and without added sugars. The natural flavor palette is based on the combination of French grapes (including the Sauvignon Blanc) and the Mauzac. Apart from the grapes, everything is totally Belgian.
Sophisticated technology
“While Champagne and Cava need a second ripening to get the bubbles in, we will bring very fine gems through a sophisticated technique here in a Belgian bottling plant. If technology is not allowed to break tradition, we would all still drink from streamsI read on the internet. And that is a statement where I am completely behind. «

To claim the Belbul label, the sparkling wine must be via the two hundred year old Méthode Champenoisethe working method of the champagne, are produced, entirely from Belgian grapes. ”

Personally, Olivier Sonck thinks it is a shame that Belbul’s initiators have not contacted him. “Due to those strict rules, the Belgian sparkling wine with Belbul label will not break pots in terms of export. The production of Belgian grapes is simply too low. Even the climate change will not change that. We are not reims. I am very proud of if I can order a Duvel abroad. But do you think that is a world and Mout in our Belgian beers from Belgium here? Seen cocoa plantation? ”

So why should a Belgian sparkling wine based on French pigeons not be allowed? «
