Why I don’t swallow my new cell phone case

I don’t swallow my cell phone cover because I stick to instructions. At least mostly. In this case it was not difficult for me. A few days ago, the replacement for the old « cloak » of my smartphone arrived, which broke a week ago. The order arrived on time, but left me behind.

The following note was on the back of the dealer packaging: « Warning: Do not swallow the cell phone cover to avoid the risk of suffocation. » We speak of a shell that covers a whole smartphone.

Read too:

Now the material is easily stretchy in this case, but ultimately relatively rigid. In any case, I don’t get it down my neck, that’s true. The cover measures 15 to seven centimeters. I would have to chew vigorously so that there would be a risk of suffocation.

« Use only for the purpose of mobile phone protection, not for other purposes, » it said. That makes sense. If you are not allowed to eat the shell, you shouldn’t do anything else with what does not correspond to the intended use.

There is a lifelong guarantee.

The packaging included a piece of paper on which « Thanks you » stood in a sniffed font. White, on a black background, with decorations that make the whole thing appear more elegant. On the inside there is an English text: « Dear Sweet Angel, We are so Thanksful You Purchased Our Original Product. » So the dealer seems satisfied with me as a customer, after all, he writes that it is an honor for him when the product makes me happy – it feels like I have bought a watch for life.

And indeed: there is a lifelong guarantee. The manufacturers make it easy for themselves. After all, the cell phone did its job at some point and the chance is high that the following models have other sizes.

From the life of the LW journalists

The “gazettchen” is an informal column in which the authors legally tell about their everyday experiences or even give an insight into their thoughts. This has a long tradition: On December 3, 1946, an opinion with the title « Today » appears for the first time at the top of the side left on the first local side in the « Luxemburger Word ». On January 13, 1971, the « Gazettchen », which has been extremely popular with readers, then became the « gazette », which has kept its Premium-Platz in Luxembourg’s top-class daily newspaper to this day and across all layout.
