Why did the Pope give the US vice president Kinder of Kinder Surprise?
Pope Francis, undergoing convalescence after a serious illness, appeared on April 20 on Sunday of the Resurrection on the balcony of the Basilica of St. Piotr. He took part in the blessing of Urbi et Orbi, i.e. the city and the world.

The vice president replied: « Thank you. This is beautiful. »
It was added that it was a short private meeting, which became an opportunity to exchange wishes on Sunday of the Resurrection.

The day before, however, the American vice president met in the Vatican with the Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin. This time the meeting lasted a little longer, as much as two hours. – There was an exchange of opinions on the international situation, especially in countries marked by the war, as well as political tensions and difficult humanitarian conditions, with particular attention to migrants, refugees, prisoners – we read in the Vatican’s statement.
This is important because two months ago Francis in a letter to American bishops sharply criticized the mass deportations of immigrants, which was started by the administration of President Donald Trump.
The same politician and his family also participated in the liturgy of the Passion in the Basilica of Saint Peter.
JD Vance – Catholic by choice
Interestingly, 40-year-old Vance is a practicing Catholic, but recently. He grew up in an evangelical environment. However, he was not a practicing Christian or a member of a specific church community. In college, he considered himself an atheist.
He baptized six years ago, in 2019 and is the second Catholic history of the USA. The first was Joe Biden alongside President Barack Obama. And although Vance is a Catholic by choice, his views are not always consistent with Catholic teaching. He declares himself as a defender of life, while believing that abortion should be permissible in cases of rape, incest and threat to the life of his mother.
He also in favor of the availability of an abortion pill. Especially after Donald Trump assured that he would not block the Supreme Court’s decision in this matter as the president.
In addition, referring to the words of her grandmother who raised him, Vance emphasizes that abortion should be safe, legal and rare. He also believes that every state in the US should independently regulate legal issues related to pregnancy removal.
