Who runs out into the night?

The backyard race is in full swing in Askjahlíð. At nine o’clock this morning, 203 runners left, but now there are fewer than a hundred people left. Some of them will continue into the night.

The backyard race began in Öskjuhlíð at 9 this morning and participants have now run about 75 kilometers.

Competitors run 6.7 kilometers as often as they can and have an hour to finish the ring at any given time. Each ring starts with the whole time and competitors need to be in the channel and run when the bell rings for the next whole time, otherwise they are judged from the competition.

The weather can hardly play better with backyard runners.
