Who is Tomislav Suta? Here’s what he promised in the campaign for Split
He started a campaign with a large show in which 280 drones performed a spectacle in the sky printing his name and his party name. Tomislav Suta, HDZ candidate for mayor of Split, defeated Ivica Puljak in the second round and brought Split triumphantly to the HDZ. Suta is a graduate economist, and before he took over his parliamentary duty, he had a noticeable experience in the private sector. In the period from March 29, 2018 to August 31, 2023, he was a member of the Management Board and the director of the company « Water Supply and Sewer Split ». Subsequently, from September 1, 2023 to 19 May 2024, he performed the duty of a member of the Management Board and Director at the « Financial Office Doo » company based in Split.

According to the property card data, Sutina’s monthly gross salary as an MP is EUR 2,938.52, while the net amount is 1,965.79 euros. It also generates additional income from second income such as court experts (305.29 euros per year) and city councilor (EUR 1,248.30 a year). In addition, he receives monthly lump sum fees in the amounts of € 199.10 and 132.72 euros, which are not considered income and are not subject to the tax. The shot has more real estate, and among them stands out with a house with a garden in Stobrec, worth 278,250 euros, in which he co -owner with third parties (25% stake). It also owns construction land, meadows and arable land in Vaganac, with a total estimated value of 17,233 euros, where it also has a co -ownership proportion of 33.33%. Personally, he owns a meadow in Grabovac, an area of 1,500 m2, the value of which is 7,500 euros.

24sata: How to choose from the citizens of Split. Split is a specific city, citizens vote from left to hard right and almost no one won two consecutive seats?
Split is a city that remembers. Whoever deceives the citizens of Split, as Puljak did will have a hard time getting the opportunity again. The current government must explain to the citizens why it has not fulfilled its promises, and I will show them that Split can otherwise. This time, citizens choose between the interests of Split and the personal interests of two spouses.
24sata: Is the HDZ of Split neglected, or why a small number of Split HDZs have positions in the executive government?
No, we are present at all levels of government. Split has quality people who know how to manage, from party veterans to new faces. The difference is that we are talking to the government and the line ministries. The change in Split will be a great gain for the development of the city, and especially for its traffic connection.
24sata: Did you get your fingers because you congratulated President Milanovic?
Not. Some tried to portray it as a discord between me and the prime minister, but to no avail. Clearly, Milanovic is not my choice and that is where the story is over.
24sata: You have shown that gesture that you have your attitude.
I always had my opinion and show it from day one. In Split, people read you quickly. If you are fake, you have failed. You see for yourself that my views are very clear and always open to an argumentative discussion. Politics is a team sport and we in the HDZ know how to play as a team.
24sata: Three key projects for Split?
Pure city, apartments for young and traffic connection.
24sata: The biggest problem of Split?
Split is no longer a successful city and this is the biggest problem. We have not used our potential and are now lagging behind smaller cities such as Dubrovnik, Šibenik and Zadar. We used to be drivers in sports, science and art, and today? Split has become a hostage of personal interests of two spouses who manage the city through the WhatsApp Group. It’s a disaster.
24sata: Who copied whoever in terms of residential policy, Puljak you or you Puljak?
I first said publicly that in the first year of term I am launching a cycle of construction of youth apartments to which the rent will be included in the purchase of the apartment. They will not be viewed by credit ability, and they will have the ability to buy. Puljak had an absolute power and did nothing about it. He neither brought a GUP nor built a single apartment for a affordable housing. He was so lost in false promises that he planned to build apartments on a plot, which he predicted in the budget for sale.
24sata: Do you have a plan for retirees, or how to allow them a dignified life?
By the end of the first term, I plan to build two new homes for the elderly in the area of Split. Split must become a city for all generations, a city from which it does not emigrate and a city where retirees lively live their age.
24sata: Will you return the pest to the old core of Split?
Yes, but according to clear criteria. The old core became a deserted backdrop, no life out of the tourist season. The city has to work with entrepreneurs and find adequate solutions that will allow life in the center throughout the year.
24sata: Will you restore music to the waterfront?
Absolutely! And music and transmission of matches. Split will never be a city that does not celebrate its vice -champions in the world.
