Who is JJ, the Eurosong winner?
Austrian singer Johannes Pietsch. known under the artistic name Jjthe winner of the 69th Eurosong with the song ‘Wasted Love’. The young performer JJ scored 436 points. He is the winner of the jury with 258 points and the audience gave him 178 points.

JJ was born in 2001 in Vienna, a family of Austrian IT experts and a Philippine cook. He spent his childhood in Dubai, where he discovered a passion for music through family karaoke fun and his father’s love for opera.

JJ is an open Queer performer and one of the prominent LGBTQ+ representatives of this year’s Eurosong. He speaks English, German and Tagalogic, and through interviews often emphasizes the importance of authenticity and accepting diversity.
The Austrian National Television Orf selected JJ with an internal choice, and ‘Wasted Love’ was premiered to the public on March 6th. Austria performed in the second semifinals, and in the finals JJ performed the song Ninth in a row.
The dream of a performance on the Eurovision stage was born in 2014 when Conchita Wurst won the victory. He described that moment as crucial and extremely influential and then started to monitor Eurosong regularly.
