Which contained suspicious envelopes sent to public institutions
The police of the capital made details, on Wednesday, in connection with the suspicious envelopes sent, a day ago, to public institutions.
« On April 1, 2025, the police officers of the General Police Directorate of the Municipality of Bucharest were notified about the receipt, by post, of envelopes containing a white-royal substance, within four public institutions.
Following a preliminary examination performed by specialists, no chemical, biological, radiological or explosive substances that are at risk for the safety of persons or the environment were identified, ”the Capital Police said on Wednesday.
The files were taken over by the Service of Explosive Arms and Dangerous Substances within the Capital Police, under the coordination of the competent prosecutor’s office, to continue the investigations and to accurately establish the circumstances of the event, the source said.
Several public institutions received on Tuesday by mail, suspicious envelopes containing a substance in the form of white-pink powder. The authorities in Bucharest have entered the alert. Among the locations concerned were the headquarters of the People’s Advocate, the Romanian Gendarmerie, but also the headquarters of the Romanian Police.
