Which apartment building transformation is worth the best title?
Focus on quality, sustainability and inspiration
Every year, the Environmental Project Management Agency (APVA) is organized by the election of the « Renovation of the Year » to highlight the most successful examples of apartment renovation. This year 12 selected projects from Vilnius city and district, Kaunas, Ukmergė, Jonava, Panevėžys, Klaipėda, Mažeikiai, Marijampolė participate in the competition. According to Gintarė Burbienė, Director of the Department of Modernization of APVA, the main purpose of this competition is to promote quality renovation and inspire other residents to make changes.
« At the same time, it is an opportunity to hear from the firsthand about the process of renovation of the house, good practices and learn how people’s daily routine has changed. We want to pay attention to the projects that not only have the energy efficiency of the building increased, but also extended its life cycle, improved quality of life. home, ”said G. Burbienė.
Selected by clear criteria
According to G. Burbienė, apartment buildings participating in the election of the year renovation project are selected based on how much energy is saved, innovative technology, architectural transformation of the building and a qualitative change in life.
« We appreciated not only how much energy consumption decreased, but also what architectural solutions were made, how quality work was done, what materials were used, how well the environment – for example, whether public spaces were renovated.
Voting invited by all Lithuanian residents
All Lithuanian residents are invited to the best implemented projects – the voting for candidates will begin on June 9. One of the largest news portals in the country, and the winners will be announced on June 16th. Before giving her voice, APVA recommends doing so responsibly – getting to know each project and exploring the real benefits of the apartment building after the renovation.
« One apartment building saves impressive quantities of heat energy – up to 80 %, the other is installed heat pumps, other areas of tongues or unconventional facade are installed.
It is important to evaluate the totality of all the aspects mentioned, as well as the project contribution to a broader environmental renovation not only in the yard or in the street, but also in the area or even on the city, the strengthening of the city ecosystem. Also, the impact of the modernization of the building in the long -term perspective is one of the measures to fulfill the obligations related to climate change.
