Where teddy bears go to church – Diepresse.com

At the « Teddy Bär Sunday », more than 200 bears were collected in a church in Margareten. They are intended for children in single parent project Juno.

Places of worship are rare so fully occupied: more than 200 teddy bears took part in the Sunday mass in the Kellerkirche St. Johannes in Margareten. « Teddybär Sunday » is the name of the parish campaign, which took place this year for the 5th time.

Teddy bears are collected to make children happy in difficult situations. The donations (10 euros per teddy) were already lifted in advance. On Sunday, all donors were able to take “their” teddies to church at the entrance, or bring their own.

After the fair, the teddies remained for a photo, rather they now move into their new home: The plush toys were collected this year for those 150 children who are currently living in the residential project Juno for single parents. The project is operated by people who have experience with a separation family themselves and plans and places inexpensive apartments for single parents. In total, more than 200 plush toys came together – each with their own machine that the church members had previously sewed on. (tes)
