Where is the storm? The whole country in alerts. The most endangered regions
RCB performed nationwide alertin which he warns against possible storms, strong wind, rain and possible flooding and power outages. During the day and at night throughout the country should be expected violent weather phenomena.
IMGW issued the first and second degree warnings against stormswhich will accompany strong rainfall, reaching up to 50 mm, and the wind reaching speed up to 100 km/h. There may also be heavy hail rainfall. The warnings apply to as many as 16 voivodships, and their validity includes Saturday and night from Saturday to Sunday.
Poland covered by alerts. The most endangered regions
Voivodships covered first degree warnings this:
- Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship,
- Podlasie,
- Kujawsko-Pomorskie,
- Greater Poland,
- Lubuskie,
- Lower Silesia,
- the northern part of the Mazowieckie and Łódź voivodships,
- West of the Opolskie Voivodeship,
- South of Podkarpacie.
Intensive rain (20-30 mm) and wind gusts up to 85 km/h are expected in these areas.
Second degree warnings include voivodships:
- Pomeranian,
- West Pomeranian,
- Lublin,
- Świętokrzyskie,
- Lesser Poland,
- the southern part of the Mazowieckie, Łódź, Podlasie voivodships,
- The eastern part of Opole,
- The northern part of Podkarpacie.
In these regions, rainfall up to 50 mm and wind reaching speed up to 100 km/h are forecasted.
What to do during a storm?
RCB reminds you to avoid being in open ground during a storm. If you are outside, you should find a safe shelter as soon as possible – preferably in the building.
It is also necessary to secure objects that can be kidnapped by the wind and track current meteorological warnings.
In the face of the upcoming storm, residents should prepare for possible difficulties, such as flooding or interruptions in the supply of electricity.
