Where do the products come from the Greek market?

Although Greece is still the main source of commission, the percentage of domestic products is gradually reduced from 72% in 2020 to 61% in 2022, 59% in 2023 and 36% in 2024.

The increased shift to Greek production in the years 2020-2021 seems to be linked to the pandemic and the problems that arose in international supply chains (off-shoring, re-shoring, etc.).

Continuing, the decline in domestic origin after 2022 is offset by an increase in imports, especially by the European Union (from 22% in 2023 to 35% in 2024).

An increasing trend is recorded in imports from Asia, reaching 21% in 2024, a finding that may be linked to the expansion of businesses’ commercial networking to new markets mainly to search for cheaper products.
