An x -ray will have to be made – almost every patient has probably encountered such doctors, and it is clear to everyone that in this case, one very specific person’s surname has already become a species name. But « making » means that it will have to be photographed by human internal organs and bones, using special technology, the effectiveness of which was discovered on March 27, 1845 in Lennep (then Prussia), Wilhelm Rentgen.
The revelation, as often at that time in science, occurred almost or accidentally, studying quite different physical processes. Interestingly, by the end of his life, the X -ray insisted that his open radiation should be called X rays (traditional mathematics and physics with X denotes an unknown size). In countries where English was dominant, this term-X-rays-is generally accepted. However, the Germans, in their desire to honor their compatriot, named radiation on the name of an x -ray, and later this name was rooted in the eastern part of Europe – not only in Slavic, but also in Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian.
Thanks to the modest, financially well -secured and also fame and glittering spotlight, the non -Balker X -ray did not resume his discovery (including the Nobel Prize of 50,000 Swedish crowns, which would be more than 1.3 million euros today – he donated to the University of Virburgs) It took another half -century to realize that frequent being in the X -ray exposure area is harmful to humans and could lead to various diseases, including oncological diseases.
