What salaries do the Russians have

The average monthly nominal salary accumulated in Russia in 2024 was 87,952 rubles (approx 4700 lei), according to the data published by Rossat. The indicator is calculated taking into account bonuses, but before taxes. A year earlier, the average nominal monthly salary accumulated in the country was 74,854 rubles.

The highest salaries were recorded in the Chukotka Autonomous Region – 185 thousand rubles, in Yamal – 163.9 thousand rubles, in Moscow – 162.1 thousand rubles, Magadan – 153.8 thousand rubles and Nenets Autonomous Okrug – 134.4 thousand rubles.

During the first 11 months of 2024, the average salary in Russia increased by 17.8%, more than the inflation rate, which for the same period, according to official estimates, was 8.4%. The increase of salaries is due to the expansion of the internal demand against the background of replacing imports and the increased need for staff in those industries that did not require so many workers.

The sectors with the highest monthly average salaries in Russia in 2024 were the financial sector (206.3 thousand rubles), information technology (163.5 thousand rubles) and mining (155.6 thousand rubles). The regions in which these industries are concentrated tend to have the highest average salaries.

Rossat calculates the average salary based on the company’s data. The salary fund of all enterprises in the country is gathered and then divided by the sum of the average number of employees.
