What does a jet hunter actually do on the Lechfeld?

The children who were working there received the children and showed them the training facility in small groups.

The jet hunters and military helicopters were examined with great enthusiasm by the little visitors. Countless questions were asked to the trainees, many different buttons and levers were pressed and all flaps opened on the aircraft. With endless patience and a lot of sense for child -friendly representation, the trainees answered all questions asked and showed their little companions the complex technical equipment of the aircraft. Afterwards, two former Bundeswehr members showed the children further military -historical objects such as floors, spin seats and various aircraft models. Based on these exhibits, the children learned a lot about their military use on the Lechfeld. Many thanks to the lieutenant Markus Mellinghoff and to the colleagues of the military history collection (MGS), who gave the children of the family oasis this impressive and unforgettable afternoon.

The MGS military -historical collection on Lechfeld is open to visitors every first Sunday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. At the meeting point at the Main Guard (Landsberger Straße 7, Graben), visitors are picked up and led to the exhibition.
