What did everyone wait every year in Vilnius: is the city ready?
Vaiva Marozienė, the chief gardener of Vilnius city, commented more on what to do with sakura.
– Can I say that the big day came – Sakura blooms in Vilnius?
– Yes, finally. Like every spring, practically at the same time, maybe even a little earlier than the last few years, we already have rings and we can enjoy them.
– How long can you enjoy this beauty?
– I think we will be able to enjoy about two weeks for about two weeks. The sakura of another breed continues to grow a little, and they will blossom a little later and will delight us with rings for a long time.

– Sakura – what is this tree, what is the plant?
– This is a royalty, in folk words, cherry. It does not break the large juicy berries as we are used to. Our regular cherries and plums bloom at similar times.
– Is it a fragile tree, a brittle ring?
– Yes, all the rings are brittle and just sensitive to both frost and some mechanical things, so we protect and we are very afraid of frost.
– Synopticists say that this week will be as warm and the end of the week predicts as much as 25 degrees Celsius.
– I am very happy and hope that Sakura will delight most of the residents of Vilnius, most townspeople and guests of the city. We really have where to come, enjoy and admire.
– What advice would you give to those who are about to go or come here?
– It would be more fun for people to choose a walk or come with scooters, with bikes, but not with cars, because the street is really narrow and it is difficult to park. Then there are congestion, dissatisfied people and so on. If there is an opportunity to come differently than popular – let’s say unconventional, say early in the morning, again

– Is the city ready?
– Yes, the city was preparing for this event all the time. There are certainly more containers, and city contractors are more likely to take care of garbage care. Of course, we are always looking forward to the awareness of the citizens themselves – perhaps that garbage is worth carrying or bringing home and sorting it. Of course, we also have city residents, such as crows, which also contribute to the debris. We have to be conscious, not to wait for someone to do something for us, and look around for ourselves and make sure that there is no garbage.
– Did you mention that there are some of the late sakura species a little further, but there are still in the Japanese garden?
– Yes, there is also in the Japanese garden, where they start to bloom just as they are. They are still fresh, because the Japanese garden counts only the third year of its existence. Those sakura are still such a pond compared to these. There is a little different breed, but the Japanese garden is a space of a slightly different environment. Currently, the birds are breaking there – finally the swan chose that pond for the transition. However, we ask and encourage us to behave consciously, responsibly, restrained, noise, not to go to the biggest groups, to attach pets to protect and conserve our environment, because we are delighted with the spaces we protect ourselves.
