What caused stomach poisoning in Krakow? Sanepid is investigating
According to the services, a total of 47 people reported symptoms of poisoning. Among them were young participants of the educational trip from the north of Poland and two of their carers. At the same time, a group of tenists from France also reported problems with well -being.
Students from the school in Starogard Gdański, who had stomach problems, came to Krakow in total in a 55-person composition. Ten of them were taken to Narutowicz’s hospital, and the rest remained under the care of teachers.

The Poviat Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Krakow confirmed that all hospitalized young patients were discharged from the hospital the next day. However, the notification was coming on Friday, when an ambulance was called to another student who felt worse. This time, however, there was no need to leave it in a medical facility.
Both children from Pomerania and French visitors have already left Krakow. The head of the local Sanepid explained in an interview with the media that a common factor was sought, responsible for the appearance of similar symptoms in both groups. It was established that members of the tourist trip used the same breakfast in a hostel restaurant and an evening meal in the form of catering prepared by an external company.
Sanitary inspectors point out that the findings so far do not indicate viral infection. However, the samples taken are still analyzed and the full results are to be available at the beginning of the coming week.
