What are the fears of Romanian entrepreneurs
The Romanian entrepreneurs are increasingly worried about the economic and fiscal evolutions of the country, according to a survey conducted by the IMM Romania organization, which has taken the pulse of the business environment in the context of economic uncertainties and preparations for the future executive. The results were presented on Wednesday by Florin Jianu, a member of the Economic Commission, Industries, Services, Tourism and Entrepreneurship in the Senate, during the debate « Restructuring – an insolvency prevention measure », organized by Financial Intelligence.
The survey was conducted among 1,650 entrepreneurs, mostly micro -enterprises and small and medium -sized enterprises, reflecting the dominant structure of the Romanian economy. The most representative fields were services, trade, production, tourism and construction.
Reducing demand and possible increase in VAT, in the top of fears
Ask what is the main problem they anticipate in the next six months, 46.1% of entrepreneurs indicated the reduction of demand as the major challenge. Also, the possible VAT increase is anxious on 32.4% of the respondents, while 15.7% mentioned unfair competition and a significant percentage fears the dysfunctions in the supply chain.
« The entrepreneurs are afraid not only the external developments, but also the lack of coherence of the internal economic policies. We are facing a volatility of decisions that do not allow long -term planning, » explained Florin Jianu.
Concrete proposals for the future
In front of these challenges, the business environment formulates a number of clear proposals for the future executive:
-Relaning the financing and guarantee programs for SMEs;
-reducing the tax on dividends to 5%;
-the opion to move from the profit tax to the specific micro -enterprises;
-Reveration at the threshold of 500,000 euros for applying income tax;
-reduction of administrative bureaucracy.
« We do not necessarily ask for decreases in taxes, but stability and fiscal predictability. Let’s set the taxes for 10-20 years and not change them from year to year. Only we can be competitive in the region, » Jianu stressed.
Increasing costs, pressure per profitability
In addition to fiscal instability, companies are increasing increasing pressures due to increasing costs of raw materials and services, but also due to the depreciation of the lion in relation to the euro. Many entrepreneurs have acknowledged that they will have to transfer these costs to the final price of the products or services, which will affect their competitiveness and profit.
« The devaluation of the national currency inevitably leads to increases. In the absence of compensation or support mechanisms, the Romanian companies will lose land on the market, » Jianu warned.
The unstable political environment affects business plans
According to the survey, six out of ten entrepreneurs say that the current political situation negatively affects their activity. Prolonged election campaigns and the lack of a clear governance direction feed uncertainty.
« Entrepreneurship is the most sensitive segment of instability. Continuous choices and contradictory messages in the decision -makers area only make investments and development difficult, » said the senator.
Reducing budgetary expenses, a priority
Another sensitive point mentioned by the business environment is the structure of budgetary expenses. Jianu pointed out that, despite an increase in budget revenues by 17% last year, the expenses increased by over 24%, which supplies the structural imbalances of the budget.
« It does not matter only how much you receive, but also how you spend. We need a real reform of the budget apparatus and a reorientation of the funds to investments and support for the economy, » he added.
