A veterinary passport is not just a formality, but a document that provides the safety of your four -legged friend on travel, while participating in exhibitions, visiting veterinary clinics and more.
It is necessary to decorate the depassport in advance to have it at hand when it is needed. How to do it – told in the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
Why is an animal for a veterinary passport?
It is required for:
- Identification of the animal – The document contains information about the animal, its breed, age, color and special signs. It also contains data on the owners, so in the event of loss of the animal it will be easier to confirm ownership;
- visiting vet clinics, providing vaccination and preventive measures – In the passport, vetmedicine doctors record all vaccinations, tick parasites and other procedures. This helps to monitor the health of the animal and prescribe the right treatment;
- travel – For traveling with an animal within the country or abroad, a veterinary passport is Obligatory document. He confirms that the animal is healthy and vaccinated, which is a prerequisite for crossing the border;
- participation in exhibitions and competitions – In this case, the veterinary passport confirms the health of the animal and compliance with breed standards.
What data do you make a pet passport?
First of all, the document must contain the following information as:

owners: surname, name, residence and contact number;

General information about the animal: name, breed, gender, date of birth, characteristic color of wool;

electronic chip number (if any);

information about where and by whom the Vetasport was issued;

performance of rabies vaccination;
-
Analysis for determining antibodies against rabies. Many countries require a certificate of antibodies to rabies to enter animals;

vaccinations from other diseases such as leptospirosisplague, enteritis and others;

Parasite treatment.
Where can I get a veterinary passport for an animal?

How to design a veterinary passport?
To apply for a veterinary and sanitary passport, you need:

undergo an animal examination in a state veterinary physician;

Make sure the four -legged marking, including the microchip (it needs to be read with a scanner), or brand, Applied no later than July 3, 2011. The animal identification data should be entered in the veterinary passport;

provide confirmation of rabies vaccination. Vaccination need to do annually, starting from the age of 3 months of the animal.
The document confirming rabies vaccination must contain the vaccine date, the name of the vaccine, its series and number, name, name and patronymic of the doctor who was vaccinated and his signature, as well as the seal of the veterinarian where the veterinarian works.
Is it possible to bring to your passport a vaccination made before issuing it?
Vaccination information cannot be postponed in a veterinary passport. This provides for item 2.1. Rules of filling, storage, write -off of veterinary documents and requirements for their accounting approved by the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy No. 288.
Do you need additional treatments before vaccination?
Most often, before vaccination, it is recommended to treat the animal from internal and external parasites 7-10 days before vaccination, but detailed recommendations may vary depending on the drug.

Can a veterinary passport refuse?
There are several grounds for refusal to issue documents, including if:

The doctor cannot examine the animal;

The four -legged does not have a chip or brand, applied after July 3, 2011;

The animal is not vaccinated with rabies or there is no vaccination document, and the owner refuses to vaccinate the animal.
How to determine if a veterinary passport of the installed sample?
The form of the established sample of the veterinary and sanitary passport is approved by the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy No. 288.
« Such a passport is issued in two languages - Ukrainian and English – and contains the ISO code of Ukraine and the passport number », – noted in the State Consumer Service.
What is the duration of the vet passport?
A veterinary and sanitary passport for an animal is valid until its death.
