We’re still here because we didn’t go for power

The President of the largest government party and Prime Minister Golob, in his address to today’s event of Freedom in Volčji Potok, pulled a line a year before the parliamentary elections under the work of the government coalition so far.

“Everyone remember three years ago when we went on this path, how they spoke: we don’t need another new face, have no experience, have no program and you will not succeed. We are here today, ”Golob recalled the beginnings of the party and the current government.

He is convinced that after three years they are still on political parquet because they insisted. “Because we didn’t go for power, but we went after something we believed was right. We went for a change, this one is alive today and grows and we live with it. This is what counts the most, « he stressed.

He is convinced that the results of the current part of the government coalition are based on respect and cooperation. « We swear by social dialogue, we swear that the changes we perform are not inspired, but through hard negotiations with social partners, » Golob said. This is the only way to get the best solution and unlock the potential of each, he said.

He also highlighted the promised reforms that he, in his words, do not carry out for themselves or because they would be simple, but because they believe it is right. Because reforms are people, faces and their fates, they will insist on them, he said. Among other things, he highlighted health, wage and housing reform and building a public system. « We will not allow decommissioning, we will not allow private capital to dictate the pace of neither reform nor the future, but that we, as a community, take care of our people, » he said.

« Our vision is that and will remain Slovenia a welfare state in which we will take care of everyone, » he said. He reiterated that he believed in the power of knowledge, so they have been investing in education, science and innovation since the first day of his term.

He believes that we live in times that are not in favor of peace, so they should not give up safety. “We swear that security is much more than just weapons. Security is that we include each of us in the construction of a system that will be resistant to natural disasters, on human nonsense and human greed, « he said.

In the last year of his term, he has also called on the further connection of the coalition partners. “It is only together that we can Branik before the right of populism, before populism, which wants to eliminate everything from history, present and the future. So we have to stay together connected, ”he urged.

“I wish that every day we are building our community again and persistently for the next 12 months and the next four years. This is what Slovenia needs, ”he further concluded.
