Weather: Spring snow insists

The weather … continues to show his teeth, as another day with bitter cold and spring … snow will live with the country, with temperatures to remain at low levels.

The weather setting will be reminiscent of winter, with mercury falling and below zero in some areas, while even more will have frost in the early morning and evening.

The phenomena will be less tension than Monday, and will affect the central, east and southern parts of the country. In the evening, the phenomena will be limited to the central and north of the country.

At the same time, the winds that will blow in the Aegean will be strong to stormy.

The National Meteorological Service provides for the third clouds in places increased with local rains and by noon in Crete and the Dodecanese sporadic storms and snowfall in the mountains of the mainland.

Temperatures will range at low levels throughout the country and in most areas it will not exceed 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.

« From today the phenomena will be limited to the south with the cold but insisting in particular at night and in the morning, » said meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis, stressing that spring will return from Thursday.

Weather: heavy rains on Monday

Notable rainfall and snowfall occurred on Monday 07/04 in many parts of the country.

According to Meteo of the National Observatory of Athens, the highest rain height was recorded on the island of Samos (Samos Station – 43mm, Karlovassi Station – 42mm), followed by the Middle Naxos with 35mm of rain.

Concerning Easter, Mr. Marousakis said that « the forecasts want the Holy Week to roll with high temperatures and mild weather with this tendency to keep Easter. »
