Weather: How much heat will do in May
The weather in May will be warmer than we are used temperature of the month.
According to Meteo, the warmest of normal is expected to be next May to SE Europe (including Greece) according to the long -term forecasts issued in April.
As shown in the graph below, according to 84% of the scenarios available, the average May temperature will be higher than normal levels for the season (reference period: 1993-2016). Specifically, the probability of positive deviations between 0 and 1 ° C, between 1 and 2 ° C and above 2 ° C is 35%, 31% and 18% respectively. The chances of negative deviations between 0 and 1 ° C and above 1 ° C are 14% and 2% respectively. The average price of 350 scenarios is +1.03 ° C.

This prognosis is based on a total of 350 possible scenarios from the following prognosis centers: ECMWF (Europe), UKMO (United Kingdom), Meteo-France (France), JMA (Japan), NCEP (USA), DWD (Germany) and CMCC (Italy), European Commission.
It is emphasized that long -term forecasts are characterized by great uncertainty and aim to assess the trend in the monthly and seasonal evolution of the average weather conditions. In addition, temperature divergences on a daily and local basis due to the effect of any species of weather systems may vary significantly from the average divergence of one month in a wider area.
As for last March, the average temperature deviation in SE Europe was +2.36 ° C, while the average price of all the long -term prognosis scenarios issued in February 2025 was +0.89 ° C. As shown in the graph below, the size of the deviation observed was 16% and was the 4th most likely prices in the long -term prognosis.
