We will wonder again why no one noticed
Per tragic shooting In Graz we talked to dr. Leonido Zalokaran expert to work with violent and difficult children, explaining what is hiding behind such horrific actions.
“When I heard about this event, I was completely shocked, as I first understood that this happened to us, Styria. At such moments, it is difficult to understand what happened and why the boy did this act. We do not have this information yet, so we cannot comment exactly the case, « says Zalokar.
The educational institution where it operates has a registered specialized out -of -hospital health, as they address the population of children who are often unable to master health care and social because of their violent behavior, and are rightly afraid of them.
“Over time, it will be revealed what was the cause of this act, and again we will wonder why no one noticed and acted earlier. I am almost convinced that it will turn out to be a lot of warning signs, only as a society we do not know or do not want to know what to do with such children. «
In doing so, Zalokar points out that violent children are often incorrectly stated, that they are actually victims themselves and that their behavior is the result of violence against them; However, the presence of a variety of psychopathology, insensitivity and alienation in families, which are nevertheless obvious enough, is completely overlooked or refusing to notice.
“We know stories about families where there are personality disorders, etc. present in generations for generations. Children in such environments show signs of insensitivity and emotional numbness. They sought help, but unfortunately nothing has happened, as there was no courage or real arguments for action, « emphasizes Zalokar.
According to Austrian media, at least 28 are injured in hospitals, at least four of which are in critical condition. The victim is probably ten. Photo: Erwin Scheriau/AFP
“We know what harms the child, but we still allow such family practices to continue. Studies from abroad show that insensitive parenting is one of the important environmental risk factors for the development of insensitive and violent behaviors in children. In such families, the child’s brain develops differently, which prevents the development of conscience, morals and ethics, « he explains.
According to her, insensitive parents are often the product of previous generations, where permissive education may dominate, among other things. “Violent children are not always the result of physical violence, but also the result of incorrect education and lack of emotional support. Therefore, it is imperative that society and the system take parenting under scrutiny, especially the method of upbringing, and introduce sanctions against parents who harm children, « he warns.
Serbia is in the case He acted entirely in the spirit of responsibility and protected the society from the continued destruction of both the child and his parents, while in Slovenia we still wonder what kind of support we have for children and Kosta from Serbia or Graz Kosta, as well as for their parents. « Justice, criminology, social, health and, above all, the government must jointly answer how to identify and act in a timely manner to prevent such tragedies, » concludes Dr. Leonida Zalokar.
Perko: If there is no hiarchy, chaos occurs
Psychologist dr. Andrej Perko warned a long time ago that the shooting march, as we were now witnessing in Graz and some time ago in Belgrade, can happen in our country. According to him, Slovenia is part of a wider Western educational model that allows children too much freedom and too little responsibility. When there are no clear boundaries, when society discourages authoritative education, children grow up without a moral compass.
He also pointed to the influence of psychoactive substances, especially the heavily concentrated marijuana, which is much more dangerous today than it used to be and can contribute to aggressive behavior. The case of a seven -year -old who, for poor rating, grabbed weapons and fired at classmates, sees Perko as a logical consequence of education without restriction. He is convinced that society is developing in a pathological direction, so in the future we can expect more such tragic events if we do not change our attitude towards education, responsibility and safety in schools.
