We watched the 2nd season of the ‘The Last US’ series: The shortcomings were covered by a good acting team

Although I am not a big fan of the Last US series, it must be admitted that the first season – despite excessive expectations caused primarily to an unprecedented promotion that left space only for disappointment – was more than very good and even on the border to be great. The promotion diminished that good impression by announcing, a little, unprecedented masterpiece, which the Last of US series is not. But a very good acting team and a very good relationship and interpreters between the main character and heroes – Ellie and Joel – have covered all possible shortcomings, both the world that is built and the script itself. The second season, again bombastically announced as a masterpiece number two, leaves even more space for disappointment – because one of the main characters, I would also say a favorite character wearing the series, Joel, in more than half an episode simply – no.
The disappearance of the main characters from the series, especially those who are a favorite to the audience and for which the audience is cheering, is a fairly risky move that, if well -affected, elevates the series to the highlight of the production. A good example is the « Game of Thrones », which ruthlessly killed the main and the audience of their favorite heroes, just like George R. Martin in her books), but in the incredible crowd of wonderful characters that novels and series offered to the audience, it was easy to find new characters whose fate would be most interested in them. For which they will cheer.
In addition, the heroes, with the removal of the ruthless logic of the event that set the series, ie the Romani Gr Martin, at the beginning. The killing of the main, and the audience of the favorite, the heroes followed the cruelty of the shop itself, gave dynamics, waking emotions, had a head and a tail. The disappearance of Joel from Last of Us, as unpopular, offered a great opportunity to make a screenwriter upgrade series, to further refine the story and to offer something new, otherwise and unexpectedly, yet logically conscientious and astonishing. It seemed to be that way.
It started in a good direction, but unfortunately it was not that continued. As in the first season, and in the second it is further problematic because we are already familiar with the world that revives the series, it has started with the incredible aggravation of the shop, with boring and completely unnecessary explanations of background stories, not giving the main story to develop and go in some direction. And some of this are additional some incredibly stupid and cheap additional plot, almost transcribed from the « songwriter » of various soap operas, so the series in half of its second season has come into an incredible danger that the audience, and even the warmed fans, stops interest what will be further.
Okay, this does not mean that the series needs to give up, many series pulled out of such moments – the « Game of Thrones », which I mentioned, and « Walking Dead » had more of those moments. Only, by that moment, the series still offered many more reasons to overcome the crisis than the « Last US » offers in the second season.
